Itchy, itchy, itchy, itchy.... TriCalm away!!

TriCalm Anti-itch Gel I Green Moms Meet I Giveaway

So let me start by sharing that if it makes you itch, it will seek me out. I've had poison ivy, poison oak, chicken pox, measles, food allergies, environmental allergies and in fact I actually had German measles five times. I also frequently get an evil little itch when I get anywhere near latex - and it starts with my nose. I reach for the Benedryl and use the cream first, and the liquid next. Then I have to make sure I've rubbed all of the cream into my skin, and hope that the Benedryl doesn't make me too drowsy.

Now, when I was offered the opportunity from Moms Meet to sample TriCalm I was excited, but pretty skeptical. I've been a long time gal with my main itchy cream, and so I didn't really believe that it would work that well. TriCalm’s unique formulation combines the active ingredient aluminum acetate (a water-soluble salt compound often used in medicine as an astringent or antiseptic) with COSMEDERM-7®, a patented compound of the natural element strontium.

I have to say even though I read "gel" I was actually not prepared to have a light gel pour out of the container in the car the day I decide to start using it. After getting over the shock of something new it was nice how easy it went on. It's light, and didn't take much to rub it in. It also worked pretty quickly for me. And I tend to get itchy a lot after a good workout due to my latex allergy, and the fact that my workout room does have carpeting. It's nice to have something light to use on my skin. I really do like that consistency of this product a lot.

So about a week later when my daughter was complaining of a rash she had developed from a new medication, I decided it would be worth it to give it a try and see how she liked it. Right off the bat, she thought it smelled, which I thought was odd because I didn't ever really notice a smell at all. I rubbed it on her arm, and when I asked her after dinner she said it still itched, but I have to admit she was no longer itching her arm. I will try it again on her because I liked that it didn't numb my face and so I feel better about using it on my seven year old. Also, I like that it's steroid-free. We've not always had the best experience with steroids, and having on less steroid in our lives makes me just a little bit happier.

I will say that if you are used to using an anti-itch cream, you'll need to get used to using a lot less with the TriCalm. And as a disclaimer let me say that I received this product for free from the sponsor of Moms Meet program, May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer.
