Our fat cells have estrogen receptors... no joke!! Estrogen, which we often see as being a negative, but it will atually protect against chronic adipose inflammation. Estrogen gets a bad rap. Chronic adipose tissue inflammation is considered an increased risk factor for insulin resistance. The problem with estrogen is when we get into an inflammatory obesity problem as the estrogen dominance then overtakes and we lose the regulation of this essential hormone. 

It's the goldilocks syndrome of not too much and not too little. Too little estrogen sends the stressed out body into high cortisol responses (aka Triggered & Wired!!) This leads to chronic stress levels. These phytoestrogens and biological estrogen can counteract the effects of cortisol on the body.

Resveratrol, curcumins, also bind to these ERα receptors, which can block these essential hormones when taken in high amounts.
