Coming off of this high from our bi-annual convention, you start to feel like you can do anything. I am sure that you have attended something that made you feel that way. I was thinking about who I am, what my message is, where I am going and there are things that I keep coming back to.
For starters, I have become a much better listener over the last few years. I have moved from this person that just knows, to the person that is open to knowing. I have been listening and giving of others, serving them with possibilities.
Possibilities of the week:
- Yucca (not Yuca, which is cassava) has the most beneficial stalks and bark that are very reminiscent of the properties of Motrin. It has been used in clinical studies for arthritis and can be had for $0.20 per day. Something that doesn't do liver damage, or eat up your stomach for less than a stick of gum.
- So many women (and teens) are dealt the blow of PCOS. Imagine being told that this is your future, and Googling and what you are shown is women with mustaches, and stories of women who can't have children. How devastating. Yes first, clincal studies have shown that Berberine supplementation is far better than metformin, as well as having good nutritional supplementation. Waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio in the berberine group showed a significantly greater reduction in these measures than the metformin or placebo groups. As well, subjects receiving either berberine or metformin had significant improvement in measures of insulin sensitivity compared to placebo. Finally sex hormone–binding globulin increased significantly in the berberine group compared with both metformin and placebo, with significantly greater decrease in triglycerides, total cholesterol, and LDL.
As well, Dr. Paolo Giacobini at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research have determined that by treating pregnant women with GnRH antagonist drugs we may actually see the day where there is a cure for PCOS. GnRH is produced in the hypothalamus, and it has a pretty big role in the development of testes and ovaries and sort of kicks on puberty. We still don't know a lot about this, and the medications aren't all happy and joy. However we may be heading in the right direction.
- A lot of women have hay fever this time of year, but also a lot of women are breastfeeding. Quecertin is often recommended, and in fact I even recommended it today, for hay fever support. However it should not be used when breastfeeding. A great alternative is stinging nettle. Stinging nettle can help with reducing allergic symptoms, it has been shown to have anti-asthmatic properties. The win, for women that are breastfeeding, is that it can also help increase milk production.
- Another thing about women and pregnancy is I get a lot of questions about women that are congested during pregnancy. Estrogen increases mucous. I don't recommend any essential oils during the first half of the pregnancy, so instead you can try some apple cider vinegar, distilled water with a netipot, and keep your body hydrated.
I have also been deep into the visual work every morning. In the morning I get up and make my turmeric and ginger tea. I then sit in front of my happy light for ten minutes, check emails, and move over to my vibration plate. I stand on the vibration plate for ten minutes and I start with my vision board. I stare at it, repeat some affirmations, and visualize what it feels like to attain these possibilities. Sometimes afterwards if I have time remaining, I will work on some clearing statements. I feel like the energy being vibrated during this work helps to shake things loose, and opens me up to something I may not have been aware of.
About a month ago I took some things that had come to fruition off, and adding some items on. I added this glowing photos of women sitting around a camp fire. I envisioned that it would be me running a summer camp retreat. Instead my daughter joined the BSA and is going camping the weekend after Easter with her dad.
Then a week ago I added Danielle LaPorte to my board. I am thinking that I want to be like her, to grow my influence and share my energetic ideas with others. Four days later I get an email for a small, private, local event late Spring where I will get to go meditate with the one and only. One of my favorite books, The Fire Starter Sessions by Danielle LaPorte, changed the way I live my life and run my business. I use my Desire Map Workbook as my Win Journal, and apparently I am winning!! I will be sure to share this adventure with you all after the fact. Today I am grateful for having the tools to create my own destiny, or uncreate what isn't working.
Would you be interested if I did a vision board workshop for you? I am actually certified in both vision board work and dream boxes. (of course I am... multipassionate mama!)
But the thing is that we have to realize that when we put things out there into the universe, we don't always get back what we think we are going to get. However, I feel that we always get what we need. I hope when I am sharing some of what I know about nutrition, plants, and bodies with all of you, that you get what you needed, as well.
