The Barbara Christensen VlogCast : Episode 2
First off, vote. No matter if you feel like your vote matters it really is a privilege that you should not take for granted. Many nations don't have the luxury we have. Of course I'm finding that so many countries have far better lifestyles that we do, but that is a whole different story.
One of the things I love about NYR Organic is that they are all invested in the environment. So when I saw the stories about Bayer, your animals and the Bees, I just immediately thought about the Save The Bees campaign.
I also talk about the Vermont labeling of nonGMO foods, and Starbucks... but I do want to make clear that I'm focused in on Starbucks because I live here in Starbucks country. This lawsuit is being pursued by The Grocery Manufacturers Association, and Starbucks is one of their members. So when you jump into bed with the big bad processed food world, expect to be spanked every now and then. If they don't want to be a part of that, they really should consider what their overall end game is, and if they are getting enough out of their membership. I am guessing the all mighty dollar will keep them connected to the GMA... what do you think?
Now of course I also get into some nutrition and addiction. A have an amazing friend that runs Real Caring, and has done a lot of counseling in the world of drug addiction, and I have a family filled with addiction. I heard a podcast that said you can cure addiction with nutrition, and that green smoothies are better than drugs... Well nutritionally yes. But for those that have done drugs I am sure the high cannot be compared between the two. Nutrition is key for the next generation, and to repair the damage you have done... but it is not a cure for addiction. If it was we'd all be lined up in front of our Blendtec's like it was crack.
So I hope you enjoy the talk today, and if there is anything you want me to address, just post below!
