Changes In Products at JM Ocean Avenue
I have seen changes slowly happening in the original Ocean Avenue products in the last year. The newest change has been the WAVSmart shake now lists traces of tree nuts in the ingredient list. For someone like myself that is severely allergic to tree nuts this is a change that had one of my downline not noticed this morning could have been serious for myself, but also for her and her kids. Allergies are serious, and when a company changes something this serious you would think they would let their Ambassadors, who are really their brand know about it.For several weeks I've been trying to connect with the Ocean Avenue customer service to get some answers to some questions, and I have even sent Franco a message and no answers yet... but I do have some serious questions about changes that I will address here. This of course is my concern and opinion, as I have stated that these questions haven't been answered by the USA headquarters... so this is my own opinion on what I'm seeing from the outside looking in.
Is our undenatured whey A1 or A2?
There was a really great article in Mother Jones magazine about the difference between A1 and A2 undenatured whey. And for those that are going to say that they "use New Zealand grass fed whey"... did you know that per New Zealand law their whey must be made from pasteurized milk, which negates many of the inherent health benefits, even though it's grass-fed. A2 beta-casein is the beta-casein form cows have produced since before they were first domesticated, over 10,000 years ago. It is considered safe and nutritious and has no known negative effects on human health. A1 beta casein is known as beta-casomorphin-7, often abbreviated as BCM-7. And that is the real concern. BCM-7 has been linked to type 1 diabetes, heart disease, autism, and other diseases. I also have to wonder why the new bags do not list the shake as being certified gluten-free and then there was that tree nut issue I listed above. It's why I'm now using the Action Whey completely.So have they moved manufacturing? And what about the changes in the Empower? There is now silicone dioxide listed in the ingredient label, the capsules seem thinner, and the color is really varying on the bottle to bottle. Silicone dioxide is also known as Silca. Silica dust is a known carcinogen, lung irritant, and is also a central nervous system toxin. Most of my customers that are using this product are using it for illnesses, that would not want to add any of this toxin into their system.
