Super Bowl Kills Your Diet

So many of us are gearing up for the sports day of the year, the Super Bowl. This means parties are happening across the nation. People enjoying more than normal amounts of sugar, carbohydrates, and of course alcohol. The Super Bowl kills your diet, and you think that just a little bit will be okay, but you are wrong. So that means tomorrow many people will be reaching for an aspirin when they wake up because of the effects of the glucose reactions (combined with the gluten reaction) in their systems - which can often cause migraines, headaches, fatigue and muscle soreness. 

But what about all of those folks like myself that cannot take aspirin?? What are we to do? I often take my curcumin supplement for the anti-inflammatory results, but in Asian countries I learned that they use resveratrol to treat headaches. Resveratrol has been see to increase the number of mitochondria in the cell, and it provides energy and protection for your cells and brain. Long term use can help reduce migraines. 

Super Aspirin Substitute

I am allergic to aspirin, and my mom takes a baby aspirin every day. I know at age 45 that I am quickly approaching the age where they recommend it, but I can't. Aspirin is something I can't have. I have been learning more about the Bombshell Jeunesse products and saw that they were using resveratrol for blood thinning/thickening problems. I've used curcumin because it's a blood thinner, but what is the difference in the two. 

Well for so many there is a real need for alternatives to aspirin besides my allergy. There is a full range of aspirin-resistant patients out there. A lot of people don't ever realize that despite taking their baby aspirin they are actually aspirin-resistant and they aren't getting the benefits of aspirin that they thought. Up to 26% of those under age 60 are aspirin-resistant, and over 60 that rises to 45%. And they have found that there is  a significant correlation between aspirin resistance and heart attacks or strokes in patients with stable cardiovascular disease, resulting in an increased risk of death. I have an 8 year old and so I need to live a long, healthy life. So I research all of the time what I can naturally use to help my heart (which has a hole in it) keep strong for many decades to come. 

Resveratrol, in addition to its other cardioprotective properties, is known to inhibit platelet aggregation. Resveratrol is one of a group of compounds that are called phytoalexins. These are produced in plants during times of environmental stress such as microbial (fungal) infection or UV irradiation. It has been suggested that this ability of resveratrol may be responsible for its protection against coronary heart disease. That includes effectively inhibiting aggregation of platelets from patients with aspirin resistance. So I think I will try a month on Reserve and see how I feel.
